Autonomous 24/7 store: Immer(K)auf Taupadel becomes a Sentra AI Shop
In Taupadel we converted the existing 24/7 store Immer(K)auf into an autonomous Sentra AI Shop — with Sentra AI Entrance, a camera system, age verification and Sentra AI SmartStore.
Challenge
The Immer(K)auf in Taupadel is a day-and-night store and a certified five-star village shop 2024/2025 — local supply, open around the clock. For a truly staff-free operation, though, the right technology was missing: reliable access at any time of day or night, compliant age verification for tobacco and alcohol, and a camera system that keeps an eye on the store at night too. The historic vaulted room was to remain untouched in the process.
Solution
Together with our partner HT Shop Solutions we converted the existing store into an autonomous Sentra AI Shop — the new technology blends into the brick vault without changing the character of the village shop.
- Sentra AI Entrance at the front door: access by bank card, verified and logged, the door opens in seconds
- Sentra AI SmartStore as self-checkout: scan items yourself and pay by card — no till and no staff
- Integrated age verification at payment — compliant for tobacco, alcohol & co.
- Camera system with live monitors in the sales area, keeping an eye on the store around the clock
- Access, checkout, cameras and assortment centrally controllable via the Sentra interface
Result
The Immer(K)auf still opens day and night — now fully autonomous. Customers enter by card, shop and pay themselves; tobacco and alcohol are only sold after an automatic age check. Cameras and control run through a single interface, and we help support the system via remote maintenance.
